THA E BASIC FEATURES OF A BOILER COMMONLY USED IN PROCESS/CHEMICAL/DAIRY INDUSTRIES ARE:
(A)Boiler Shell:
Shell is generally made of steel plate bent in cylindrycal form.It stores water and steam inside it.
The end of the shell are closed by means of end plates is called the drum
(B)Furnace:
It is a space in a boiler where fuel is burnt .It is also called fire box
(C)Grate:
The grate is plateform on which solid fuel is burnt.It is made if iron barswhich are spaced apart so that air required for combustion can pass through them.
(D)Setting:
It forms the wall of combustion chamber.It also provide the support for some type of boiler .It is generally made from fire bricks.
(E)Mountings:
These are the setting which are mounted on the boiler for control,safety and clearing purposes.
These are essential fittings
(F)Accesories:
The extra components which are some times used with boiler to increase the efficiencyof the boiler are called
accesories.They are optional components.
